Main
In their heads, 4s’ lifes are organized, things happen for a reason, everything has its place and is logical. With the emergence of new knowledge and facts, those are placed in a system too. They talk a lot about the structure of the world, it could be philosophy, politics, religion, etc. They try to achieve a certain status in their world, a certain position. 4s are often big proponents of communism, especially if they are not smart, as it makes everyone equal and simplifies the system. They have very few friends and rarely make new ones, but for their friends they will do a lot. They value them and put friendship in high regard and it is really not easy to be a 4s friend. They are not actively seeking for more friends, so usually someone ends up trying to befriend them. From there, 4s think and decide whether they want to be friends or not. They are very responsible and do everything that is their responsibility, but usually do not take too much upon themselves. They are great in arguments, everything they say is logically connected to the topic, so they know exactly what proves what, but because of their somewhat slow thinking, they might not be able to think of it on the spot. If they have a great understanding of the world, they might develop ego as “the only person who understands what is going on”. 4s are truly fair and talk a lot about justice. They divide things into important and unimportant and make that separation very apparent when they talk.
Style
They are usually calm, but if you see them being overly surprised, or otherwise emotional, they are doing it to make you laugh (see E). 4s are not religious, unless it is the basis for the perceived world structure. Same with the supernatural. They are never late, as they plan things ahead. Speaking of planning, 4s, just like 5s, 11s and 14s constantly play out scenarios of the future in their head. But unlike 5s and 11s, 4s do not talk about their plans, they just execute them. 4s lie really well, but about minor things, they care too much about the truth and fairness to lie in any big way. They use metaphors constantly, and leave listeners in suspense when telling them something. 4s do not get stressed usually, unless their world view is somehow in danger or is radically changed. They are feminine, even men, but more so by proxy. Not romantic. 4s believe that there is always more time to wait, and are able to wait, but don’t wait when they have to act. Perfect timing, in other words.
Tool
Nerds. To complete their worldview, they think a lot, especially when processing new information. The signature “stare into the abyss” also present in 1s, 15s and 14s, does not happen spontaneously in 4s, but only when they think. In their thinking they are slow but precise, the truth is more important to them than a unique idea (a contrast to 1s). 4s can be creative and weird but only if it helps them get better status. They value education, want their children to be educated, but only if they think that education makes people smart. If they realize that it doesn’t (either in general or in a specific case) then they won’t care. 4s like children because they are emotional and not aggressive. 4s can be queer, but again, as a way to gain higher status.
Control
When trying to act, similarly to 16s they try to do as little as possible to achieve a certain result. Unlike 16s, they are smart and have better ability to plan so usually they are able to optimize things really well. However, planning usually takes up so much time that 4s don’t get to act. 4s are very theoretical and not very practical. They do what is either logical and serves to promote or help grow their system or achieve a higher status or what is funny. 4s have bad memory, do not want to learn new methods, do not like evolutions in techniques. 4s follow instructions well, but always think if they can do whatever they are doing faster or in fewer steps. They follow the law, especially because they know that the law is what stops “all those aggressive people” and also because the law helps create a better system and country/organization. 4s separate facts into important and unimportant and only memorize what they consider important.
Follow
When younger or if not very smart 4s try to follow societal norms, but deep inside do not believe that is important. If they want (which is almost never) 4s can make friends easily, because of the combination of being good friends themselves and being nice enough to initially make friends. Their goal is not to impress anyone, and they do not care about complements or others’ opinions of themselves. 4s can love, they say all the right stuff and can show affection, but trust to them is much more important than love. They can hate a person and trust them at the same time, and do not let their personal opinions be in the way of fairness. 4s can express opinions, but do not believe in them, their most common way of expressing opinions while staying truthful to themselves is to very apparently exaggerate (“this is the best movie in a billion years”). They are bad mediators, their advice is usually very radical. In general, very radical people, in their opinion, everything that is unimportant should not exist. Do not understand people’s character, but may be able to see patterns and match them with behaviors of other people.
Learn
They want to learn how to cook and be healthy. The best compliment you can give them is about their stamina or health or cooking. If they have poor skin, they will care for it. 4s try to be in shape, usually either very skinny or moderately chubby. If they are in an environment with a lot of P-info, they may take up sports, usually to be physically stronger (spoiler alert - they still look like nerds) and to be healthier. 4s like comfort, they want to learn how to create it. They try to be healthy using extreme methods, like extensive diets, cold showers, long walks or workouts.
Pain
4s do not want to talk about money, do not want to talk about the way they look or dress. To aggression they respond by ignoring it and then disproportionately exploding. 4s are either not aggressive at all or very, very aggressive. They do not value objects, can share and give to others very easily, especially if it helps them get higher status. 4s find it very hard to ask others to give or lend them something. Usually they dress in something traditional and normal, but add a little bit of a flare to it. Usually their perfect world theories include some sort of deterrence against aggression. If they want to achieve something, they think, like, plan and outsmart as opposed to using force or money.
Want
Emotions are the driving force behind 4s actions, like I mentioned before they either do what is right or what is funny. And usually the right thing to them is what makes things funnier. They want to make other people around them smile and be happy and they heavily dislike people that are cold and unemotional. They like loud music with either a lot of yelling and screaming or just loud instrumental music. 4s like metal, rock and EDM. Their mood heavily depends on the mood of people around them. Their humor involves harmless pranks, voice changing or cringy meta humor. Usually, although you would not suspect it, 4s are pretty great in large companies of close friends, where they can let loose and their wits and timing of the jokes which make others laugh fuel 4s, which use these emotions to generate more jokes. And since there is no limit to how much information our value function wants to have, this makes 4s, along with 3s emotional drivers of a party. If 4s say that they do not like partying, that is only because they have never been to one. Just don’t bring them to a nightclub.
